What we hold
For a church: its name, address, logo, plan and subscription record. For its members: name, phone number, email if given, date of birth, address, photo, family and group, attendance, and anything they write in the app (prayer requests, messages to the pastor). Members give these to their own church; the church decides who in it may see them.
Why
To run the service the church subscribed to: recording attendance, sending announcements and reminders, taking dues and offerings through the church's own payment account, and supporting the app. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Location
If a member uses "I'm at church" to mark attendance, the app reads the phone's position once, at that moment, and sends only the result of the check. Location is never read in the background and no location history is kept.
Who else sees it
Our hosting and service providers, only as needed to run Ekko: Supabase (database and functions), Google Firebase (notifications), Razorpay (payments). A church that connects its own WhatsApp or payment account shares the relevant details with that provider.
Keeping and deleting
A church's data is kept while it has an account with us, including while a subscription is lapsed. A church may ask us to export or delete its data; a member should ask their church, which can correct or remove their record.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and complain. Write to [EMAIL].
Children
A child's record is entered by their church with their parent's knowledge; the church is responsible for that consent.
